APTNet 4.1 ReleasedPowerful new release of APTNet/Connect debutsBingham Farms, Michigan January 15, 1998: Automated Programming Technologies announced the 4.1 release of APTNet/Connect, its PC-mainframe integration software. APTNet/Connect supports PC LAN integration over a variety of media, including SNA, TCP/IP, and Poll/Select. It also supports access to peer services on Unisys A-Series and IBM MVS mainframes. The 4.1 release provides services tailored to the Windows 95 and Windows NT environments, as well as continued support for older DOS and Windows 3.1 platforms. The various versions are fully compatible with each other and with older versions of APTNet to provide a smooth upgrade path and support for mixed platform operations. New features in this release include support for the Microsoft SNA Server, Winsock compatible TCP/IP support for Internet and Intranet connections, and Enhanced Scripting capabilities for File Distribution and Collection services. The product is also fully compatible with the companies Beyond FTP series of Internet file transfer products.
