APTNet Mainframe Gateway extends this network to incorporate your A-Series mainframe,
providing micro-to-micro communications and mainframe-to-micro file transfer management
services.
Costly, independent micro networks are not required because APTNet Mainframe Gateway
utilizes your current Poll/Select lines. With APTNet Mainframe Gateway, your terminal
emulation lines are also used for micro-to-micro network routing and file transfers to or
from your mainframe. Additional modems or phone lines are not required, reducing your
costs for implementing and maintaining an organization-wide network.
APTNet Mainframe Gateway's powerful mainframe-to-micro software distribution and data
collection system simplifies the distribution and collection of information across your
network. This powerful bi-directional file transfer management system provides you with
the ability to schedule, without operator intervention, software distribution and data
collection tasks to or from any number of sites. All transfers are completely audited to
verify transfer statuses, and to notify you in the event of an unsuccessful transfer.
Unsuccessful transfers are automatically restarted from their point of failure.
APTNet Mainframe Gateway is compatible with other APT products to provide networking,
productivity, and diagnostic applications across your entire organization. APT Mirror
Image is a good example. With APT Mirror Image installed on your network, you can provide
remote support to any user in the network without leaving your workstation. This
capability significantly minimizes both support and maintenance costs.
The network management capabilities of the APTNet network allow your system
administrators to manage all network resources from a central location. Being able to
remotely monitor, diagnose, and troubleshoot network resources provides your users with
the most effective support in the most efficient manner.
