APTNet Connect (CTOS) is a full-featured networking solution that integrates CTOS clusters, IBM-compatible PCs, and Novell LANs and Windows LANs into a single, cohesive network.

 

APTNet Connect allows you to access any file, anywhere in your network, by simply adding the destination node name in the file specification. Any remotely located resource (like fixed disk drives, floppy disks, and printers) can be accessed as if it were on your local cluster. No modification to your application software is required.

APTNet Connect, for example, allows you to run a database application from your local workstation and transparently access and update a centralized database located across the country - with no more effort than you would spend performing the task locally. Any application, including word processors, spreadsheets, graphics, and BTOS/CTOS commands (Copy, Volume Status, and so forth) can access files over the network. APTNet Connect gives you the ability to centralize or decentralize your data files.

Inter-platform integration is another important feature of an APTNet Connect network. If your organization is typical, you not only support CTOS clusters, but also stand-alone PCs, Novell LANs, Windows LANs, and a mainframe.
